About us

HÍKS (Háskóli Íslands Keppnispuni / University of Iceland Improvisation Match) involves offering free theatre improvisation workshops in English once a week based on the Belgian/French/Quebec method and the improvisation match short format.

Aymeric Desjardin, a young French student in love with improvisation arrived in Iceland with one promise: “If there is no improvisation in English in Iceland, I’ll make my own team!”. This is how HÍKS was born in September 2015.

HÍKS performed four matches between December 2015 and May 2016. During the summer of 2016, Aymeric left Iceland and came back to France to finish his studies. Jessica Brégeon, another French student living in Iceland to study Icelandic who fell in love with improvisation match took over the project.
